Oh my god! Andy has booked us a holiday at Paradise Island Resort in the Maldives!!!! WOW! I am soooo excited. When he told me I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, shout...I was shaking so much. We've dreamed about going there for so long, I never thought we would get there though. I think I'm still in shock :0))))
Now we've just got to try and get the cat into a cattery...awww poor Lula, I hope she enjoys her holiday too.
Got to go now, loads of things to do and get organised....oooooo *G*

Sunday, June 27, 2004 Wash day blues!
We were supposed to be going to Manchester yesterday, Andy sprang it on me, said he had booked us in for a night at the Malmaison Hotel. V.posh. I was in a panic trying to get clothes together, started ironing my jeans and I noticed that something black had run on them in the wash!!! Aaargh, they're ruined! Cue full on strop from me :0( I cried, shouted at Andy, all because I'd only had the jeans for 6 weeks, it had been his tshirt that ran, plus I like to have a bit of notice before we are going out somewhere..quote "It's not like we are just going camping and can wear anything, I like to dress up and be glam sometimes!" Anyway, Andy cancelled the hotel, we'll go another time, he only wanted to go to test his Bluetooth gadgetry anyway! LOL Ah, what a drama queen huh?
In other news, our friends Paul and Kate are now the proud parents of Amelia Alexandra. She is a little cutie who arrived yesterday weighing 7lb 13oz. We went to see her today, any excuse to buy tiny pink baby clothes. *g* She's gorgeous and Kate can't wait to get her home, although Kate had a rough time and has got to stay in hospital for a few more days.
Here's something you should try out Find Your Ideal Job I got Drag Queen with my maiden name and travelling musician with my name now...very bohemian! Infact I got allsorts coz it all depends whether I put Helen or Leni. Enjoy, and let me know what you got.

Here's a personality test for you to do and this was my result.
My personality is rated 32.Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.
We went to watch the Dog Racing on Saturday at Belle Vue with Ann and Jon. We had a great time, and I had two winners and Andy had one...cool. It was great to see Ann and Jon and baby bump is coming along nicely ;0)
Derek and Angela brought Bubba Ben round on Friday, he's trying to walk now, and has got really tall. He'll be one this week, this year has gone by so fast. He's such a good looking baby, even if I do say so myself as a doting Auntie!
Martin and Tracie have booked their wedding for October next year at Ruthin Castle It's going to have a medieval theme, a great excuse for getting dressed up in costume and eating a medieval banquet...Yum!
Not much else going on really, got to get to grips with the garden this week, everything is growing like mad and I need to sort the hanging baskets out. They've still got winter pansies in them which are looking a bit overgrown and sad looking. Ah well, I will get round to doing them, as they say, tomorrow is another day!

Monday, June 14, 2004 Feeling hot hot hot!
Phew wot a scorcher! As they say in The Sun. Just got back from Chester where I have been buying Andy's birthday pressies, it's his birthday tomorrow. It was bloomin' boiling in the car on the way back home, at least the motorway was fairly quiet.
Drove back from camping at The Lakes yesterday, had a great weekend. The weather was lovely and we pottered around Hawkshead, took the car ferry across to Bowness, then went on to Ambleside and yestrday called at Coniston on the way home yesterday.
Not much else to report really, felt knackered when we got back yesterday, I hate the drive down on the M6. I did manage to stay awake to watch the Friday eviction/bedsit thing on Big Brother, we taped it. I thought it was hysterical when Emma was leaping round the room and screaming when they were supposed to be quiet :0) She irritates me but at the same time cracks me up. It's good to see Michelle being more vocal and not just snogging Stu too.
So that's it for now guys...leave a comment or have you all abandoned the Blog to go and do something less boring instead...Whyyyy Don't You!

Tuesday, June 08, 2004 Blue Arsed Fly
Well it's me that has been running round like a blue arsed fly! Poor Mum has been quite ill, for those who don't know my Mum suffers from the following, Athritis, Epilepsy, Diabetes and goodness knows what else. Filling in her Disability Allowance form is a nightmare as there is never enough room to write down her medicationas and illnesses. The medications take up 2 perscriptions!
Anyway, all her legs swelled up a couple of weeks ago, they were red raw and itchy too so I took her to the drs. He thought it was an infection but when we went back again, they decided it was to do with her diabetes and she got told to give up smoking or she wouldn't see 2005. This was really upsetting as you can imagine. Anyway, she gave up smoking last Friday after a 3rd trip to the drs. Smoking has caused a lack of oxygen in her blood and that along with the diabetes has reduced the circulation in her legs. We went back to the drs today and her blood oxygen level is up so she is doing well, and the water tablets she has been given have reduced the swelling.
Saturday my Mum was suffering from dizziness and shaking, we called the emergency dr for advice and he put it down to giving up smoking but I wasn't so sure. She seems to be ok now though.
Yesterday I took her to the hospital to the Epilepsy clinic as she has been falling asleep during the day and having very restless nights. The dr wants her to go to the Sleep clinic for observation to see if she suffers from Sleep Apnea. She has been there before and they found that wasn't the problem but who knows? My Dad is frustrated as he is certain it is to do with her Epilepsy and I am in a quandary as what to do for the best...aaaaargh!
I'm absolutely knackered and haven't got a thing done at home. Not been able to enjoy the sunshine as I have been dashing back and to to Mums and taking her to her dr appointments. She does seem a lot better today though and she is going to Weight Watchers tomorrow so hope fully that will inspire her to lose a bit of weight and she will feel better for it.
One good thing on the horizon is that we are off camping to the Lake District this weekend with Angela and Robbie, I'm really looking forward to the break.
On another...aaaargh..note though, it's Andy's birthday next week and I haven't got him anything yet and don't know what to get him, and when will I find the time...internet shopping is the only way I think.
Sorry for the long post guys, but sometimes you've just got to get things out of your system! :0)

Wednesday, June 02, 2004 Make your mark So I have been doing some research on all the Party Policies and Manifesto's for the upcoming Elections. I find the whole Euro thing really difficult to get to grips with. I think it's a good thing but then I think, will it always be a good thing. Will we regret it in the future. I guess I just don't know enough about Economics to be able to make a decent list of pros and cons and then way them up.
That's what I need for all the elections, an easy to read sheet that has all the Parties (or is it Partys'?)Main policies on and how they compare. Sort of a York Notes for voting. Anyway at least with having to participate in this Postal Vote, it's made me think more about the whole thing, plus I feel more informed about it all. I get so nervous when I go into a voting booth, incase I do it wrong and then I have wasted my vote.
During my research I came across this article by the North West Lib Dem MEP Simple Gestures It really appealed to my sense of humour and I think it should be part of the York Notes for voting! ;0)
