Had the brother in law around today to help with some DIY. Hopefully will get the victorian tiles on the Hall floor looking good before the end of the Summer, it's been an ongoing project for about 18 months! We are very lazy DIYers :0)
Off to a bbq at Ste and Sharon's later. I've just cut Andy's hair and I really need to go and wash mine. I suppose I'd better shave my legs too if I want to put my cut off jeans on...I wish I'd put some fake tan on this morning! Chicken skin anyone? LOL

Andy's found something he wants to put on his Christmas list ;0)
What could it be? | 6:14 pm
So as you can probably see, I have been messing around with stuff in the lefthand column <----- I've moved the Archives down and have added links to other Blogs and Journals that I read. I'll be adding more at some point. Go and have a nosey at them, just click on the links.
Not much else going on. Andy was poorly sick at the weekend, think he must have caught a bug. apparently a few of our friends and neighbours have been suffering with it too. Glad I didn't get it! I didn't get much sleep though as Andy was up all night on Sunday being ill.
Yesterday I bought a pair of turn up jeans...very 50s, but they keep falling down so I'm going to take them back and see if I can squeeze into a smaller pair. Probably not, so I'll just have to keep hitching them up or find a suitable belt. I hate the way that stuff fits on my bum but not on my waist. There is always a huge gap at the back...I'm a curvy girl and most clothes seem to be made for straight up and down people!!!! :0(
Got to make a hair appointment for a cut and colour. I don't want too much lopped off as I like to be able to scrape it back, especially for camping...as it looks such a mess and I can't wash it everyday. Yay, camping in 3 weeks and 1 day! :0) Think I will make an appointment for a manicure too as I haven't had one of those in ages and my fingernails are like talons at the moment.

Took the Easter eggs over to Widnes yesterday for Bubba and Chloe. As we were leaving bumped into my Auntie Gill, one of my Dad's sisters. Found out that one of my cousins has had cervical cancer, thankfully she is responding to treatment. Very scary, she's only 33.
Not seen anyone from that side of the family since my Grandad's funeral which was almost 2 years ago. My Dad was never particularly close to his family but now both grandparents are gone there is almost no contact. Sibling issues arose after his funeral, general bad feeling all around...I find it very sad. I hope that Martin and I are never in that situation, but I suppose we are closer than my Dad was to his siblings anyway.
As Philip Larkin wrote
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.
I personally believe though that the mould can be broken. I mean we all have self will, and if we want to change then we can. Self reflection can be helpful, but too much self reflection only makes us dwell on negative things. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I have found that looking at those things which have influenced my thoughts, feelings, behaviour etc, has given me the basis on which to make decisions about what and if I want to change.
As I've got older I can understand why my Mum and Dad are as they are, and means that I react to them in a different way than I used to. Forgive me if I'm rambling, I'm just in a contemplative mood.
Ooooo, that's a bit deep...will be back to trivial blogging soon, I promise.

Why do people go crazy shopping before Bank Holidays? Took Mum shopping today, as I do every week and both Aldi and Asda were packed. I mean, they are only closed on Sunday so why do folks have to stock up beforehand? Parking was a nightmare in itself, we had no chance of parking in a disabled spot so poor Mum and to walk from the other end of the car park. Never mind the exercise will do her good ;0) Actually there was parking spot but it was one of those parent children ones and I just couldn't park there, even though Mum has a blue badge. Someone else without kids probably did, but let that be on their conscience. I don't want it to be my fault that some little tiddler has to dodge the cars in the car park....I know I'm so thoughtful :0)

April already, can you believe it? Only 4 weeks and 3 days til we go camping...woo hoo :0)
Feeling a bit....ugh today. I think it's PMT so that always makes me feel sorry for myself and also means that I must eat all the lovely pecan and toffee biscuits I bought from Tesco's bakery early this morning. I've also discovered that I can't cope with reading the message board on Fertility Friends at the moment. Maybe that's a good thing as I am supposed to be taking a break from IF stuff, sometimes it's easier said than done though.
Soooo...Yup I was up early as we had to take Lula to the vets for her booster injections. I think she has forgiven us now :0)
Bloomin' eck...it's 10 to 6! I'd better go and start making tea!
