Friday, August 20, 2004 Oi wish Oi'd looked aartfer moi teef!
Do you remember Pam Ayers? I wonder what happened to her. Anyway, I've had baaaad toothache. eventually managed to get into an emergency dentist and have discovered I have an abcess under my crown...not like queen type crown but tooth type crown, but you knew that didn't you? LOL anyway, I now am armed with antibiotics and stronger painkillers. Got to back on the 2nd Sept to get the blighter properly dealt with. Just glad to get a decent nights sleep last night but do wish I could take more painkillers, but I don't want to OD.
Other better news is that IVF is to start happening in Sept. I've got a prelim appointment with the Fertility Sister on 31st August and Egg Collection is booked for 6th Oct and hopefully if we manage to get some eggs to fertilise I will have Embryo Transfer on 8th Oct. Before all that I will have to have injections again to down regulate, this mean that my pituitary gland is 'switched off' and then later in my cycle I will take different injections to stimulate my ovaries into producing more eggs. After this, egg collection will occur.
I'm very excited about all this, just wish we could have had our first go on the NHS (i.e. Free) But apparently I've only been on the waiting list for a year and the waiting list is 3 years long! Anyway, we've just about got enough money left for this try, so fingers crossed it will be succesful. I've got to concentrate on getting myself fit and well, no alcohol and no smoking. Start using nicotine patches again today! I've already cut down on my caffeine intake and I've been taking Folic acid, Zinc, drinking lots of milk and eating lots of fruit. For some reason a lot of folks also recommend eating pineapple so I'm into that at the moment. I'll try anything!
So that's my news at the mo. Oh yeah, we went camping last weekend. Had a really good time. The weather was fantastic during the day, too hot for Andy though, bless. We did have rain during the night and Sunday night was really windy but the tent and the gazebo survived. There were some tents in the skip the next morning so I reckon our tent passes the Shell Island test :0)
Wednesday, August 11, 2004 Update My neck is better...hurrah :0) Van Morrison was good but he didn't play 'Brown Eyed Girl'...gasp, shock, horror! We had a lovely day in Chester but it was very scorchio and we spent a lot of time searching for shade whilst we were wandering around the city. For our wedding anniversary Andy bought me a gorgeous eternity ring, it's platinum set with 9 diamonds and matches my other rings perfectly. What a romantic soul he is ;0)
Went to see Ann and Jon yesterday, Lil Jakey bump is looking swell, literally LOL Ooooo it's so exciting, only 9 weeks 'til he should be making an appearance. It was great too see Jen, Ann's sister too, we had a pub lunch but poor Jen didn't have much luck with hers. First there was no rice with the chilli and then she ordered tagiatelli instead but it turned out to be penne with lots of olives. At least they got the desserts right!
We've just finished packing up most of the camping stuff in the car as we are off to Shell Island early tomorrow morning. So I guess I won't be posting 'til next week, although I do feel like I'm 'talking' to myself on here at the moment...as Mr Chad would say, 'Wot, no comments!'
Friday, August 06, 2004 What a pain in the neck! So, I took my Mum shopping yesterday as per usual. We went to Aldi and as usual whilst I was waiting for her to finish shopping I nipped into TK Maxx to drool over all the gorgeous smelly stuff they have in there. You do all know about my obsession with soaps and stuff don't you? Anyway, as I was walking back up to meet her I realised that the right side of my neck felt weird, when I touched it I realised that it was really swollen, in fact I couldn't feel my collar bone...YIKES! When I got to Mum I asked her to take a look and she said it was really noticeable and that we should go home so that I could make a drs appointment. Luckily I managed to get an emergency appointment but in the 3 hours before I went my neck got more and more swollen on one side. It wasn't hurting just felt a bit stiff and I couldn't turn my head easily, it was like wearing a thick scarf on one side, also the skin had gone all tight and shiny... nice!
Finally got to the drs, and he was a bit non plussed but eventually decided that I had probably torn the fibres of the muscle and that had caused the swelling. I took some Ibruprofen when I got home. It had gone down a little before I went to bed, and looks almost normal this morning. I can still feel it though, especially as I am writing this, so no more 'puter stuff for me today. Goodness knows how I got the injury. Just makes me feel old, I guess I can't treat the old body with disrespect anymore, cause it is now more likely to complain! So yeah, I'm an old crock, who knackers herself up shopping...There's no hope for me is there? LOL
We're off to see Van Morrison at Grosvenor Park in Chester tomorrow, hopefully the weather will be as gorgeous as the weatherman said it would be. It's our anniversary treat to ourselves as we will have been married for 8 years next Tuesday, the 10th August. Where does the time go?
Speaking of time, watched Donnie Darko the other night, all about time travel and teenage angst. Still not sure whether I liked it or not. Have any of you lot ever seen it? What did you think?
Just waiting for the carpet cleaner guy to come now, the dining room carpet is disgusting again after the barby we had on Friday. Why did we get a cream carpet? We should have had the floor retiled...will we ever learn?
