The waiting game.

They managed to get 5 eggs from me on Wednesday, pretty good being as one of the nurses told me afterwards they only expected to get 3! We got a call on Thursday to say that 4 had fertilised and Embryo Transfer was set for Friday. We've had 2 four cell embryos put back, Itsy and Bitsy...don't laugh, I had to call them something :0) There are 2 embryos left one at 5 cell but not dividing properly so probably won't make it, the other was a little slower and at 3 cells, not getting our hopes up that it will make it to be frozen. We won't know 'til later in the week.

I'm feeling ok, had a really sore tummy as I think it was quite a struggle to get my eggs, I don't know coz I was out for the count, thank goodness. It's just the waiting to test that is awful. Test date is 11th March, Red Nose Day. I just hope I make it to then and don't start to bleed early like I did last time. Trying to stay positive and just get on with things. Been taking it easy just pottering about. Had a really lazy day today and more or less stayed in bed 'til 5pm watching crap films on the telly!

Other news, Andy's Mum and Dad brought our nephew to see us last night as they do most Friday's, he's 21 months and a little star ~*~ He and Andy were having great fun with a toy car and motorbike. Bubba Ben is obsessed by bikes at the moment. Anyway, it was time for him to go home and he didn't want to. He'd had too much fun with Andy. I think Andy's Mum and Dad were quite surprised as he loves to go everywhere with them. I was surprised too, but it was lovely to see. He's got to know us so well now, maybe he'll be able to stay the night with us sometime soon. His little brother is due sometime over the next couple of weeks, the last 9 months seem to have flown by. Can't wait to meet him, when he arrives.

Ann came to visit with Jakey on Monday. He has grown so much and is such a cutey. We had a good natter, the time just seems to fly by. Hopefully I'll see them again next week.

Andy has been busy potting up seeds, goodness knows where we are going to put all the pots! It'll look like the bloomin' Eden Project in here. I'm hoping everything grows well though. I'm growing my own bedding plants and hanging basket plants this year as I usually end up spending a fortune every year on plants. I've bought some new azalea plants too but can't plant them out as it's been too frosty. No snow though yet, not that I really want any. I'm crap at walking in snow. I always end up falling over. Oh yeah, I do that when it's only been raining too don't I? LOL Got a huge bruise that has finally come out on my hip after my fall last week. Very attractive, NOT!

Early Eggs for Easter!

Well, not eggzactly...LOL...no it's not that funny really, bit of a crap pun. Anyway, tomorrow is Egg Retrieval day for my IVF. I'm nervous and excited. Had a bit of bad news on Sunday, there were only 3 decent follies, hopefully there will be a couple more tomorrow. But, it looks like that despite having increased my dosage of Gonal F my body has produced less follies. I'm hoping we get 5 eggs, but 3 or 4 will be ok, I suppose. Out of the 7 they retrieved last time only 4 fertilised enough to be stored or used. So anyway, wish me luck.

I've packed my bag ready, dressing gown, slippers and book. Martin, my bro, will be here at 6.45am coz we have to be at the hozzy for 7.45am...aaaargh! I don't DO mornings :0(

Had a bit of mishap today. I went to do my step gran's shopping. I paid her paper bill and pick her up a Puzzler book. Then I decided to go to the veg shop for some apples. It was wet, I was in a hurry and I slipped right onto my hip. OUCH! So although my bruises from my injections are disappearing now I'm going to have a bloody great big one on my hip, and one on my arm. Must have bashed my elbow and jolted my shoulder too, coz it huuuurts! What an eejit I felt. So I'm ok, but I'm sure I'll ache more in the morning. I'm going to have a nice bath in a bit to try and ease it. Honestly what a divvy :0)

Tomorrow, when I get back I will be mostly sleeping off the effects of the anathestic, so will update with any news on Thursday or maybe even Saturday as, fingers crossed I will be having Embryo Transfer on Friday.

Fever!

It's been a awhile since I last posted. Stabbing is going just fine, still down regulating. Suffering like a bugger with hot flushes, just a taster of what the menopause will be like. Yikes! Anyway, no real bruises yet from the injections, although my thighs are starting to get a bit tender. Got a scan on Thursday to see if my lining is thin enough to start stimming. So then I will be on 2 injections a day. That's when the real bruises will appear! Feeling a bit hormonal and emotional but nothing terrible, as I've said to others, just plodding along really.

Had lurgy for the past week. Chills, hot flushes and general chestiness and snottiness. This has all helped in the bid to stop smoking as I actually haven't been able to breathe and so just could not face fags anyway. Andy has had the same lurgy, I think we caught it off someone in the crowd at the MEN when we went to see Green Day. I bought Andy tickets for Green Day as part of his Chrimbo pressie, that was the thing I had lots of hassle trying to sort out on Ebay, the bloke selling them didn't have a clue what he was doing! Ah well, got the tickets in the end and the gig was absobloominlutely fabulous! Fantastic atomosphere, really good entertainment. Loads of pyrotechnics, always go down well in the Smith household LOL. So yeah we had a brill time.

Erm other news, had my haircut today. Not had it cut for 7 months...eeeks! When I went to the salon there were all these signs up saying Heather is back...Heather cuts my hair. I said I never knew you'd been away, she said I've been travelling in Oz, New Zealand and Fiji for 5 months....ah right then. Maybe that's why it's been so long since I've had a haircut, I must have sensed she wasn't around..... I've booked a manicure for tomorrow. Not doing anything special but thought I would treat myself. Think we will have a mooch round Chester on Thursday, my appt at the hospital isn't unitl 6.15pm Maybe I'll get round to spending some of my Christmas money.

So it's Valentine's Day next Monday, have you got anything planned? Think we'll make the effort to go out at the weekend. Been trying to book a meal at Lawson House but they never answer the bloomin' phone! It was ringing out for over 10 mins all over the weekend. Oh my GOD, Andy's just rung them and they picked up straight away. It's booked, we're going for a delish meal next Monday and we can walk there and back, no mucking about waiting for taxis. Fabulous :0)
