Looking to the past.

After having a sort out in the little bedroom to organize my craft stuff I came across a brown box with allsorts in it, my birth certificate, bank statements and work stuff from 1994, letters from my mate Ann, and from Karen who Ann and I were at Trent Poly with, wonder where she is now? She was living in Bradford, and she sent me some lovely photos of her daughter, she'll be about 13 now!!! There was also a photo of another friend from Poly, Morag from Fort William and one of her little boys. Shame we lost touch.

Anyway, I also found some invitations we made for our engagement party at Rivington Barn
which was 11 years ago today. How weird is that! To come across that stuff today of all days. The engagement party was brill. We had a great time. We bussed everybody there from Frodsham, Runcorn and Widnes and we had a brilliant Barn Dance. It all seems such a blur now. I remember our engagement cake. I designed it. It had sugar paste ivy all round the sides and two sugar paste sunflowers on the top. Do you remember when sunflowers were on everything, well that was 11 years ago!!!

Also in the box were photos of Peckforton Castle which is where we got married on 10th August 1996. The pics are from when we took the parents to look round the place and we booked it for our wedding. Yep, we are coming up to our 10th wedding anniversary. Oh I look so young and thin in those photos!

So there ya go, a little trip down memory lane, which fate made me come across today of all days!

Crap stuff and Good Stuff

Well, let's get the crap stuff over and done with. I know I've not written on here about it this time but we've just been through our 3rd IVF treatment, and yes you guessed it, the result was negative! :0(
I had a good feeling about this one, I guess the ectopic I had last September gave me hope that I could actually get pregnant. I mean that's the first positive text I've had EVER! Anyway, this time Aunt Flo turned up early, as she always has done in all the other negative IVFs and FETs

Before we started this 3rd treatment we decided it was going to be the last one. I'm getting older and not producing many eggs on treatment, plus it is emotionally and physically draining, and yes, bloomin' expensive too! So that's it we will now be a childless, child free couple. Surprisingly we both seem to be dealing with it quite well. I guess we're just not dwelling on it and have been getting on with our lives. We were devestated last weekend when it became apparent what was happening, but after so long of not having children and very little chance of us ever becoming parents I suppose we accepted the inevitable sometime ago. So all in all life is just ticking along much the same as it was before.

So on to good stuff, I took advantage of Ebay's 5p listing day on Thursday. Beforehand I kept myself busy making and creating lovely bath goodies and sewing up bits and pieces. Get over to my Ebay Store and have a nosey. I think this has helped me get through this week, keeping myself so busy. Also you've got to love that the sun is shining, that I've got the most brill hubby in the world and some fantastic friends who I know care about me very much :0)

So yeah, better go and wax the car now I've washed it, enough of this girly emotional blather!
